My Economic Impact Payment was sent to the wrong account. What can I do?

The IRS has not yet provided guidance on what to do if checks are mailed to the wrong address or deposited into the wrong accounts. Eventually everything will be straightened out. This problem illustrates the need to inform the IRS of any change of address since the last return was filed by submitting Form 8822. Correcting bank account information is another matter that’s yet to be clarified.

Deductions

Items directly reducing income. Personal deductions such as for mortgage interest, state and local taxes, and charitable contributions are allowed only if deductions are itemized on Schedule A, but deductions such as for alimony, capital losses, moving expenses to a new job location, business losses, student loan interest, and IRA and Keogh deductions are deducted from gross income even if itemized deductions are not claimed.
